Need help booting Thinkpad 560 w/pcmcia cdrom


I just pick up an old Thinkpad 560, it came with an external pcmcia cdrom. I checked the bios and it's set to boot pcmcia, then hdd, but doesn't has anybody done this, any suggestions? I'd like to throw slack on this. (if it ever boots).
