MP3+Palm Zire 31+SD+Linux= How?

Ok I just got a spanken new Zire 31 (it was cost effective leave me alone) My friend had a spair SD card so I can put some MP3s on it. Now the dilemma. How do I get the MP3 on the SD card using my Zire 31 ?

Now for all the people think that solutions can just be paid for I am homeless and broke no money coming in There is nothing documented any where on the net regarding this but one assholes solution was to go and buy a card reader. that didn't answer the guy question. He didn't say it could be done or not just go buy something. fucking enginiers. any ways...........long story short I need this info I just found out that MMPlayer plays Ogg Vorbis file and any thing else with no conversion awesome. But my sole OS is Linux. I can't afford Microshafts Virus(or worm) called Windows Xp so I am forced to use Linux ( I wish every thing I was forced to do felt this good.... oooh ahhh POWER)oh....any ways I tend to just type what I think and some times I go on for ever it that Damn ADD thing

There is a piece of Software for the Palm which simulates an usb-mass-storage device. You can upload and download files on the SD or MMC Card just like with an arbitrary USB Storage Device. This Program runs on your palm and works officially with windows and inofficially with linux. It is 21-Day Try-before-you-buy. Works with my Gentoo and Zire 31.

Just run the program on your palm; You need the "usb-storage" kernel module. Then mount it like an usb-stick. The corresponding entry in my fstab:

/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbstick vfat user,defaults,noauto,sync 0 0

please note the "sync" option; I got problems unmounting without that option.

Have you set up any sync software for your palm in your Linux machine? I think it's just to sync over the MP3-files. Then tej are stored on SD-card. Anyway, thats how it works on my palm (T3) and GNOME (with it's palm sync software).

With cardexport you don't need additional software, you don't need even hotsync. If you plug in the HotSync Cable and then start the CardExport software on your palm, the palm pretends to be an usb-stick. Look at an USB-Howto for more info about mounting usb storage devices
