Hi, I posted this in General but will try here instead (didn't see the laptop forum at first...)

I just finished installing Mandrake 9.2 on my Dell D600 laptop. Everything went ok, except for the mouse / touch pad. It boots into KDE normally, but the touch pad is unusable. I can drag the pointer around but it seems to randomly be "clicking" (hard to describe). Basically I cannot even navigate the start menu.

I looked at the Linux laptop site and nobody mentions any touch pad problems with the D600.

If anyone has some tips on how to get the mouse / touch pad working properly I'd really appreciate it! Right now I'm totally stuck...

Could you post the contents of /etc/X11/XF86Config (-4)

I think your mouse is trying to use the wrong protocol.
