When the grub bootloader comes up and edit it, add "init=/bin/bash" and then boot that. It should let you get in then you can diagnose the issue further. Start by looking at log files, /var/log/messages, /var/log/dmesg and see what errors are reporting.

it doese not help me, i had to reinstall Mint for my friend.
