Mic on Macbook pro
I have a Macbook pro 6.1 for which I have got sound working other than mic input which simply refuses to play ball. I've tried adding:
options snd_hda_intel power_save=1 model=mbp3 To /etc/modprobe.conf as has been suggested on Google searches, but this doesn't help at all. Thanks |
sometimes computers share an input such as line out with mic in.
open a terminal and run alsamixer as a local user Press the TAB key to get inputs or (capture) use the right arrow key to get to mic press space bar to activate it...or unmute it.....settings will turn red press page up to raise volumes 2) if no capture device is seen then press tab key to go back to outputs one of these may need to be navigated to ....and then press the up or down arrows to change it from an output to a mic input. I have some images and settings here http://techpatterns.com/forums/about1813.html |
Hi, and thanks for the reply. I'd already tried all of those things. Endlessly playing with Alsamixer just makes no difference. There is a rear mix setting that you can't raise the level on. I suppose I could try getting a later verion od alsa to try.
