Matchbox window manager

I have been trying to get the sources for Matchbox to compile, and keep hitting the same problem. After grabbing the libmatchbox-1.9 sources and doing ./configure, make, make install everything seemed well. When i proceed to matchbox-common, and try compiling that (or any other matchbox source) i get presented with
Code:
checking for libmb >= 1.1... configure: error: *** libmb required and not found ***
Doing a locate of libmb shows there being a libmb directory in /usr/local/include, and some libmb files in /usr/local/lib.

I have very little experiencing with compiling from source, so its very easy just me doing something wrong. Any help would be great though.

Btw, I have read the docs the matchbox's website, and they don't offer much help with this part of the process. If anyone has a good read on these kinds of problems, id be glad do some "rtfm", just need to know where to go

Have you tried making sure that "libmb" is up to date. If not you may need a newer one. This may not help, but good luck anyway.

I downloaded the source to that from their website, and I stuck with the same version (1.1) as everything else. Didn't seem to do anything different.

I hear there is a package in Ubuntu for this, so I'm going to install Ubuntu 6.10, and try that. If matchbox is worth it, I'll try harder on this problem. If not, I havn't wasted to much time.

Thanks for th reply!
