Massive Sound Issues w/ Debian Lenny & Lenovo 3000 Y410 (7757)

I have a Lenovo 3000 Y410 - the 7757 edition - and I'm having a boatload of problems. Namely, the sound only works if I suspend my machine and then wake it back up, and furthermore, it's only out of the speakers - I can't get the headphone jack to work at all.

I have option snd_hda_intel model=fujitsu in my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base. I've tried other of the models - they all seem to do the same thing or simply produce no sound no matter what I do (granted, I haven't tried them all yet...). I honestly have no idea what all you guys will want me to post, so just let me know and I'll get it for you post haste.

TIA.

Hm look like you are not the only one with this issue on that laptop..

http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/m...essage.id=7727

http://blog.syafril.com/?p=38

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/196896

http://linuxondesktop.blogspot.com/2...ur-ubuntu.html

Not just a Suse issue with that hardware either, it looks like this issue has been hanging around for a while. I think you are going to need to do a bit of searching and reading to see how people have addressed this issue and what solutions/workarounds they have found since it seems to be specific to your hardware.

I'd read the other ones before, and they didn't do much for me, but the first one I've never seen before - good catch! It got the headphones working, but I still have to suspend, and plugging in the headphones doesn't mute the speakers. I saw a patch for that a while back, but it had since been pulled.
