Low Battery notification in Gnome?
i want to see when my battery is going low so that i can plug it to AC/power. I was installing some things about it from net but icon comes but not working...

You need to have APM or ACPI enabled before this will work. Add the related modules to your /etc/modules file and make sure the service apmd is set to run at boot.
Once you've done that, you just need to add the battery monitor to the panel above the screen, or the one below. Just Right Click, Choose Add to Panel->Battery Charge Monitor. |

ok i installed the mandrake 10.1 and gnome 2.6 has already this feature in the desktop.

What must you change to make sure the battery panel recognizes when the AC Power is on or battery power? Mine is stuck on whatever the startup value is, i.e. if I am on battery, it stays battery regardless if I switch to AC.. and vice versa.. Using FC3 and GNOME...
