I don't know if you have an automatic update for your distro or not but that may be the reason it only works for a while. I turned mine off after I got everything working the way I wanted. Sometimes I think the distros stay behind on some of the updates.
yes, thats true. I stopped automatic update in my other machine which runs openSuSE 10.2 with the same config (audio especially - Intel HD Audio) and it works fine. Never reverts back to where it was.
It's true that certain updates breaks the changes made by us manually.
Hi,
i have the same problem (low sound) on my hp presario c301 laptop.
i have FC6 stock kernel(2.6.18-1.2798) and a stack=16k of the same configuration kernel which both give the same problem.
As some of you have pointed
1) do i have to get a 2.6.20 kernel
or
2) recompile alsa modules
Has somebody actually made their card work very well?
if it did for you, can you pls tell me the procedure you followed?
i can live with periodic als installation if this works...!
I had this problem for long time and I did two things after having it fixed with openSuSE 10.2.
It was well working in openSuSE 10.3 (alpha) and fantastic in Ubuntu. So, until openSuSE 10.3 final is released, I am sticking with Ubuntu because I am sick and tired of fixing it again and again (it reverts back to where it was on reboot every time).
Otherwise, except the solutions mentioned above in this forum, I don't have any buddy.
