Hi,

Through a windfall I'm actually able to get a new laptop, a Dell 6000 with upgrades. I've checked the HCL, and not found much (except that there are a lot of Dell users out there) so I wanted to get a feel for what peoples' experiences are with these parts and different linux OSes.

General Dell Inspiron 6000 specs:

512 RAM
1.5 GHz Celeron M Processor
60 GigHD
24X CD-RW/DVD
Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 900 Graphics
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem


I'm also interested in specific problems with the individual components, even if they're on different laptops.

Any specific recommends for Linux OS's? With so much space now (my previous laptop was 4gig), I can't wait to try out other distros besides just Slackware and Redhat.
