I got the new laptop / netbook.

After all I didn't buy a rugged laptop. I seemed more redundant to travel with 2 laptops instead of one rugged. (And you can break 10 inexpensive Asus netbooks for the price of one rugged)

For those who are interested how I did it:

Asus 1015e-ds02 10.1" Led Notebook - Intel Celeron 847 1.10 Ghz - (1015eds02) Ubuntu

It came (fast) with a US keyboard and US power plug, but that didn't bother me. The import taxes however did.

There are some very good videos on Youtube on how to replace the hard drive.

Samsung 840 Series SSD Pro 512GB

A very handy guide: Installing Slackware on encrypted volumes
ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar...ADME_CRYPT.TXT

The Wifi was "hard blocked", this fixes it:

jan@c1:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-asus.conf
blacklist asus_nb_wmi

Everything seems to run very smoothly out of the box with Slackware 14.1. Satisfied! :-)
