linux setup problem with toshiba satellite m6-161


hello ,
i have a problem installing any distro of linux except mandriva and monoppix

i found out that the problem is with the vega driver ,,
the one that is willing to work with my laptop is "fbdev" driver

the problem is that i dont know how to install it
p.s. all the linux installations run in the text mode on my laptop

please if somebody may help me ,i am trying to install fedora core 5 , or scientfic linux
