* requires System 7.1 to 7.6.1
* CPU: 25 MHz 68030 <----\
>--an FPU is needed to run linux
* FPU: none <------------------/
* performance: 3.6 (relative to SE)
* ROM: 1 MB
* RAM: 4 MB, expandable to 14 MB using a special 85ns pseudostatic RAM card
* display: 9.8" 4-bit 640 x 400 passive matrix
* 40 MB, 80 MB, or 120 MB hard drive standard
* ADB port for keyboard and mouse
* DIN-8 serial ports on back of computer
* PowerBook SCSI connector on back of computer
* proprietary modem slot
* Gestalt ID: 34
* Size (HxWxD): 2.25" x 11.25" x 9.3"
* weight: 6.8 pounds
I am in the same boat with my powerbook 520c, which has an MC68LC040 instead of a full MC68040
however i do beleive you might have some luck with the 68k bsd distributions...
