I recently posted a thread asking about Linux on a Lenovo G550. The thread is still going, and it seems there really should be no serious hitches with the G550.
I'm also considering the Y650, which is in a different price bracket, but according to the online reviews looks to be worth the extra money. It's meant to be both desktop replacement and (relatively cheap) home theatre.
So here I ask (again) if anyone has hands-on experience with Linux on a Y650. From what few comments I've found by googling, it seems that most vital functions should work, but I'd like to hear of any real-world experience before coughing up the cash.
