If you only have 4mg of RAM, and can only install via floppy, then realistically you will be limited to using only very old (retired) versions of Linux distros. Older versions of Slackware are available on a series of floppies, which may suit your needs, but in all honesty with only 4Mg RAM (and I assume <1G drive) your options will be pretty limited, and the end result would be decidedly on the low end when compared to a typical modern release. Please understand I'm not trying to be discouraging, but realistically, that level of horsepower will not support a modern distro. That said, I'd recommend checking out old Slackware - you pretty much cannot go wrong with Slack no matter what. Good luck with it regardless -- J.W.
