I have recently obtained a unused iPaq H1930. Would like to stuff it with Linux!
I will compile the kernel myself from the most recent kernel patches here:
http://www.rtp-net.org/ipaq/patches/2.6.21/
Where could I download the pre-compiled (or find instructions how to make myself) the Qpie and/or GPE distributions?
From the most "active" source:
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.c...1940StepByStep:

This section explains the steps needed to get GPE and Opie running on your H1930 or H1940. For this we use precompiled images, which have been altered a little to make them work nice with our PDA. If you want to build images yourself, please see OpenEmbedded and http://www.openembedded.org.
The precompiled images can be downloaded from http://anymore.nl/ipaq/files/graphical_images/.

I would have no idea how to properly compile Qpie or GPE for my iPaq..
and the main website of resources (
http://anymore.nl/ipaq /*) has been wiped out, too..

The next step I would try is to make an SDIO WiFi card work:
http://tuxmobil.org/sdio_linux.html
Has anyone succeeded? Digging into the link above, I found the drivers for old kernels (<=2.6.18), so first I should find a Linux-friendly SDIO WiFi manufacturer, and later probably forget upping the 2.6.21 from above...
Do you guys think it's just a huge waste of time, or are you with me?
thanks huge!
