linpus linux lite v.1.0.3.E konsole command list and tutorial needed
I have an Acer Aspite One with an os of linpus linux lite v.1.0.3.E.
I am new to linux and am having trouble finding a good text that covers my particular distribution exhausively so that I can become conversant with it enough to ask intelligent questions when I get stuck. In particular I need to know what all the commands are for Konsole.
I also have the Acer Aspire One that came with Linpus. Unfortunately, Linpus is based on Fedora 8 which is way part end of life, so it's very hard to find any usefull info on it. What I did to solve that problem was to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix instead. Ubuntu is especially good for beginners as most everything works out the box with it.
If you want to rather stick with Linpus, you'll have more luck with the Aspire One forum. .

If you do decide to stick with Linpus, then documentation for Fedora would be you best bet - along with generic Linux documentation. I know someone who has one of these and using Linpus felt swimming in quick sand, it was so locked down/crippled.
Something to bear in mind though is that not all Aspire One's have the same hardware, so test it out from the live CD/USB before you install. If you are really nervous you could dual boot (assuming you have the disk space).

Any suggestions on such a text?
I've also got an AA1 (AOA150-1570). For command-line help, any introductory Linux book would be a good starting point. If you're looking for help with the graphical environment, the Aspire One forum is your best bet. Linpus uses a custom version of the XFCE desktop; as far as aI know there's no documentation for it other than what came with your AA1.
Because Fedora 8 is so far out of date, I strongly recommend installing a more recent Linux distro, but back up your data first! I run both Fedora and Ubuntu on my AA1. Ubuntu needs an extra tweak to get the card readers to work if they are empty on boot, but other than that it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.
