I have tried both fedora core 1 and fedora core 2-test on my laptop (HP pavilion ze4500).
With acpid running, I was expecting that both lid close an open would generate an event.
However, in acpid log file, I only see one event.
I believe that event corresponds to lid open because when I close the lid at some time and open it say 5 mins later, the event timestamp in log matches the lid open.
This behavior is seen in both th distributions I have tried.
What this means is in fedora core 2, where acpi supports suspend to ram, when I close lid
the laptop does not enter suspend/sleep state. However, when I ope nthe later sometime later, laptop goes to suspend/sleep mode.
