I am using a Netgear wireless router. I have dual boot on my computer. MS Vista Business and Kubuntu 7.10.
The Vista connects fine, but I can't connect the Linux. Has anybody done it??
Any help would be appreciated. \Thanks

well go to what gnome admin part and set up your eth0 or eth1 toauto dhcp.
it will then link to the site and try to get the info. but seems to me if you have windows you put a disk in itttt did it for you. not sure. conecting with windows to any net card is about the same. sign in to you threw the gatway type in your info and be done. sounds more like your eth0 is not wal card is not running ok so you need to make sure . type as root or super user dmesg read the out put and see if the card is up and running. then configure the wiless. And by the way netgear gatway is http:/.netgear.com what is your wirless card new linux kenels now load the card as eth0 or eth1 used to be wlan0 or wlan1 etc.
What have you tried to do so far to connect in Kubuntu? Have you tried to connect manually (e.g. using ifup and ifdown) or using the networkmanager tool?
I have a thinkpad z61m and have gotten it to work in ubuntu 7.10, fedora and opensuse. Currently I am using ubuntu 7.10.
Hi Petespin27
I can't remember all the things I've tried, but the fact you are using the same laptop and Linux distro as I am will make me go thru them again and document results. I am using a Netgear WGR614v7 router which works fine with my "Vista" and my Niece's iMac.
Thanks, will let you know how I make out.
