LCD fails to recover after lid closure on Dell Latitude D520
I am running Slackware 12.2 on my Dell Latitude D520, using KDE as my desktop, whenever I close the lid, the LCD fails to come back on after I open it back up. I have searched the forums, but did not find anything related to slackware.

Have you added your users to the 'power' group?
|
Is it suspending when you close the lid?
What video card? For NVidia, I recently discovered that version 180.29 of the official NVidia driver fixes this issue. |
Yes, I am added to the power group, it is an intel 945GM video chip set, it does not suspend, it just goes black, I can get it to recover by pressing ctrl, alt, del and logging out of KDE (blindly I might add) it brings me to the console and I can start x again and it works fine.

For suspend when I close the lid on my laptop, I actually have a line added to my /etc/acpi/acpi_handler.sh under power)
Quote:
This allows me to suspend to ram whether I am using KDE or any other window manager. |
