Laptop with Debian OS
Seeking advice from users who succeeded in arranging a laptop with Debian squeeze or lenny, wireless LAN, 3D acceleration video, flsh for speech. The laptop WITH STANDARD USA KEYBOARD should be available from European market resellers.

i bought a lenovo T61 because i just knew everything would work out the box, i had mares in the past with mic, ext mic, volume, cd eject, wifi, video etc so i did much research, i eventually dropped ubuntu on it and got 100% success first time and not headaches.
btw, i got it used from ebay and after a week i spilled a drink on the kbd - kerpow - 10 keys dead, so i rang ibm but didn't tell the whole truth, they said it was still under warranty and came out the next day, bonus. |
I'm running 64bit Debian Squeeze on a Lenovo G550 and on a Zepto 6224W with no major problems: some of the Fn-keys don't work on the Lenovo and I have to use Broadcom STA driver for the wireless. The Zepto works right "out of the box".

Perhaps you can find some info on

Squeeze is pretty buggy at the moment. If I were you I'd install lenny and then upgrade to squeeze when it is released.
