Laptop suspends

Toshiba unit with 12.10 installed. Going to settings, power, when to suspend... I check never. What to do when lid closed, checked Nothing. Yet after a short time my screen goes back like suspend or hibernate. Then I have to use my password to get back. I've gone back in several times to find why but to no avail. Your suggestions PLEASE...

Is there an option, possibly under Power or Brightness and Screen settings to "Lock Screen after XXX"? What you describe sounds like it's being locked after an idle time.

Actually under both. But I've been there and checked NEVER on them. Yet it still goes there after a few minutes of inactivity.
