Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire 5002 laptop with the SIS integrated video that has Kubuntu Breezy installed on it. The problem hasn't occurred at all on Suse 10.0, which I was using until 2 days ago. What happens is when the laptop is idle the screen goes blank...but if you look closely you can see that it's not actually off, as it should be. Instead you can see it flickering on and off (but not all the way on) with the picture still there. If I leave it longer, several more minutes, it turns off completely...but then I can't resume without restarting the X server (cntrl+alt+backspace).

I have a slight suspicion that Kubuntu doesn't identify my laptop monitor as well as Suse does. With suse I told it it was a generic LCD with a res of 1280x800. With Kubuntu I was only able to select the resolution.

Could someone point me in the right direction?
