Laptop making high, annoying sound
Hi
I have ASUS K50IJ and from a rear side of laptop (where AC cable is plugged) is coming a high, annoying sound- The sound is present when laptop is on battery or on AC.
The sound is very similar to situations when to electrical devices are touching. Like bzzzzbzbzbzbz
However, the sound is not really loud. You have to put your ear really close to laptop. This is the first time in 2 years that i hear this sound on my laptop.
Is it problem in power supply?

Better to get it checked by your hardware dealer/official service center for peace of mind.

'Buzzing' caps can make a noise like that.
As to where the problem is, no idea....it could be your power supply, or it could be a motherboard cap, or half a dozen other things.

I hear that sound all the time from AC adapters and TV sets and satellite boxes and power supplies and numerous other electronic appliances.
I don't think that it is abnormal, especially if it is not associated with other problems.

I'm in electronics hardware. Rule no. 1:
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Buzzing caps can cause noise but they change as they warm up so they are easy to identify.
Power supplies can be audible at low current. So can transformers. Forget it.

Yes, that sound is in TV, radios,... I was worried because i noticed this sound first time in two years and i don't think it was there before.
Computer, otherwise, is working just fine and my guarantee paper is not valid any more so i won't take it to my computer dealer/service until it brakes - if ever.
I think it is not HDD, tough i do backups just to be sure - it might be buzzing caps.
Thank you guys
