Laptop lid issues
Hi.
I know there have been several threads on this topic but I can't make much sense out of them for my machine. I have a Dell Inspiron 630m, and with acpi events set to ignore laptop lid closure, but upon closing the lid the screen goes off and won't come back on unless you reset the computer. The computer is still on, it's just the screen isn't. Pressing of FN+whatever keys has no effect. I'm running SuSE 10.0, which I believe uses powersaved in preference to acpid. Any advice would be appreciated. Tom |
is the laptop locking up? (ie do you see no HD activity) or just the screen blanking and not returning?...

Hi,
Try this: Download http://fdd.com/software/radeon/radeontool-1.5.tar.gz Goto a console and untar it and type 'make'. Then set up your command line in that console to turn the screen on (radeontool light on), then shut the lid. When you raise the lid again hit enter to run radeontool. I hope that will work. |
