I run SimplyMepis on a dual boot Gateway 400 and just upgraded to version 3.3. A new problem has appeared though. I like to run my laptop hooked up to an external monitor (NEC MultiSync FE700) as it's easier on my eyes. The monitor is present in MepisOS Center and appears in the XF86Config-4 file correctly with the right modeline settings. But... when I boot up X starts fine but everything appears too large and won't fit on the external monitor. It looks fine on the laptop screen. Is there some setting for "external monitor" or a particular edit I should make to the XF86Config-4 file? I've done searches on this on the forums but can't find the answer. FYI I have the ATI mobility radeon drivers. It can't be an uncommon thing to use an external monitor with a laptop. BTW in the older version of mepis everything worked fine.
