Laptop drive/bios will noot boot arch linux or crunchbang

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV513 and I can boot/install OpenBSD and Slackare without problems. When I place an Arch Linux or Crunch Bang cd/dvd with the burned iso on it in the drive, the system acts like there is no boot-able media in the drive.

Any ideas why?

Check on your BIOS about:
* UEFI Boot Support : Should be disabled.
* Disable Execution Bit : Should be enabled for more support.
* ACHI Mode : Should be enabled.

Then try again...

This is an older laptop. It is a 2006 model. The only one of the three settings that exist is the Execute disable. I changed it to enable and no change.

I think for Pentium M you need a distro that uses non-pae kernel?

While the non-pae may be an issue, I do not even get any error messages. When I put the disc in the drive, it reads it. Then, when the system should boot off the media, it goes to the next boot media, the hard drive.

All the posts on systems that have issues with pae try to boot off the media, then give an error message.

Some distribution has the "Boot with Compatibility Mode", just choose that option if it exist (Exist on Mint 13) and it will display more text than the beautiful graphics.

The problem goes further than choosing "Boot with compatibility", the system simply skips booting off the media. There is never a point to choose such an option. However, I can replace the disc with Arch or CrunchBang and put in OpenBSD or Slackware and everything works as expected.

Just for reference do you know if the disks boot or have you tried them on another computer?
Have you examined the contents if the disk just to make sure they were burned successfully?
