Question Laptop and TV-Out at 1920x1200 (Dell 24")

Hi there

Im trying to get Mandrake 2006 to work on my wonderfull Dell Latitude X1 laptop. Most of the stuff work out of the box, but i got one major thing left to do.

I got the 1280x768 default laptop screen resolution working (using the 915resolution hack that everyone with "weird" native resolutions use). That works just fine.

Problem is I like to hook up the laptop to my 24" Dell 1920x1200 native LCD when im home (make that a "strong urge", not need ). But when I switch the output on the laptop, it only displays 1024x768 (no othe resolution is aviable in the screen size changer under the control panel), and my Dell-monitor refuse to display the weird 1280x768.

I figure ive gotta do some work on the scary xorg.conf-file to enable VGA out to use 1920x1200. If someone have any idea on how i should enable this, please post

Can't help specifically but here is link to get started. http://www.astro.umd.edu/~teuben/lin...p-display.html
It mentions differnet ways to do it. Easiest is setup a seconf monitor section based on screen1 and go from there. If you have a linux machine hooked up to this monitor you can pull the sync values to build from it.

Probalbly other post on the subject here. Try the search feature. Also other help can be found googling the linux way at http://www.google.com/linux .

Hope this helps you get going. When you get it going post back with a step by step how to for others.
