I have Kubuntu installed along side windows XP on my SAMSUNG laptop.
Approximately 1GB RAM
When I start Kubuntu it is working on well but at a certain point it becomes very slow to respond. If I click on a different window I will have to wait for 30secs or more before it repsonses.
What is the likely problem?
any ideas?
@budword i wonder if you will be able to get something from the output i just pasted. Didn`t know it was going to appear the way it is.
However that was the last thing i did on kubuntu because after that, Adept was running in the background and crashed. I restarted my laptop but it kubuntu can no longer start. It gives an error message. Can`t remember exactly but it is something like " Error line 15" or may be "Error code 15.
Since I did install it with windows XP on dual boot I am now using the windows operating system.
However I will be gald if someone can help me with this problem.
I will still need to install Kubuntu if that is what I have to do because i need it for a project I have been assigned to.
Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

It'll help if you can tell us exactly what the error is. I think you just need to repair grub. Supergrub bootdisk can help with that, and if you are going to be using Linux it's a good tool to have in your toolbox anyway. Here is a link, if you are interested, it has some wizards to repair grub for you.
The result of the top command will help I think, because it'll tell us what % of ram and cpu is being used, and by what process. Those are the two big bottle necks when your system slows down.
The error message is actually "Error line 15: File NOT found".
Just to mention I was also doing an upgrade when my system crashed and started.
I have been searching on google and it seems it could be one of the reasons.
