Just installed kubuntu 8.10 on my laptop (VAIO CR-363) a few days a ago....

Everything is fine except for the following strange(funny) problems....
1. Pressing the volume increase or decrease button on the laptop actually brings up a volume bar that shows the current volume level, however there is no change in volume when the buttons are pressed.....

2. I can see the splash screen during boot up however i an not able to see the splash screen when shutting down.... instead a bright red screen is seen, i wonder why....

I had no such problems with the previous version ubuntu.....

So any ideas on how to resolve these issues???
