I have

I have and all I encounter is problems. I'm hoping a kernel update will solve this for most all distributions, but in the mean time my question stands.

I would pretty much guarantee you I could install it on there with a minimum of difficulty. I checked out the box on the web, and for a new Dell, it's a pretty vanilla box. Debian is not the only distro that should install easily, it's just the one I know. My advice is to get a standard distro you think you'll be comfortable with, and work thru the problems.

You might want to download and try Ubuntu v6.0.6. I would download the DVD version which is both a live CD and has the HD installer. That way you can take the DVD to the store and boot it up and see what is working and what is not working. I would also run the /sbin/lspci command and see exactly what hardware is in the system. With that info, Google will be your friend!

Good Luck...

Bob
