Knoppix on HP dv5000 doesn't load urgent Help reqd.

This is my 2nd post and i really need help this time. I have a HP dv5000 with centrino duo proc. I have tried loading fedora core 4 and knoppix live CD both don't seem to load and give errors.

This is the error i get when i used knoppix 4.0.4 version live CD -

starting INIT process...

This was the error i get when loading knoppix and using fedora core4 i during 1st boot system gets freezes permanently -- says...
PCI: cannot allocate region 0, critical temperature reached(0C), shutting down ...
and freezes near pcmcia services start... if i disable it GUI doesnt load....

LIFE is like hell without linux, My learning is at halt due to this as most of my work is in linux. Should i think buying this laptop i made a big mistake... someone please help me out.....

Have you tried booting Knoppix using any of the cheatcodes? Specifically the acpi ones as from the looks of it this might be where the problem lies. Laptops tend to be a real pain with acpi implementations.

Have a look here Knoppix Cheatcodes about a quarter of the way down for the hardward detection options and try some of them out.

I will try tht out, what abt fc4-5 on hp dv5000 any idea on how can i load them coz thts also giving problems...
