Knoppix CD hangs in Toshiba Satellite Laptop

Hi all,

I've almost convinced a friend to join the linux revolution, so he burned a Knoppic v3.3 CD to try it out on his Toshiba Satellite laptop.

While booting, it seems to recognise processor, APM, PCMCIA, USB, mouse, soundcard, video, moniter, however... then it hangs indefinately at:
"Scanning for harddisk partitions and creating /etc/fstab..."

Then we booted my laptop with the CD and all was well so the cd should be ok.

Anyone any advice?

Well.. where u stuck shows that knoppix ws unable to recognize the currect partition table of ur HD.
Also is that knoppix cD is booting properly on any other PC..

There is 1 partition, and it's FAT32.
And yes, it boots fine on another laptop.
