kismet

Hi all, im running the latest version of kismet on my Thinkpad and trying to see if i can get it running. The UI starts up just fine but it doesnt see any SSID's including my own. I've noticed that when it starts up it tries to disable Network Manager, and it does. But the problem is network manager starts back up and kismet cant run because its not in monitor mode anymore. I tried to use airmon-ng to keep it in monitor mode but no dice. I have did ifconfig --force eth1 to try and drop the IP info but that didnt work either. Any suggestions anyone? I'd really like to start using this so i can get a better understanding on how its used. Thanx in adavance!

I would uninstall network-manager, and possibly replace it with something like wicd. Wicd can be set to not automatically start an interface so it may not interfere with kismet like network manager is doing.

I run wicd on my Debian Lenny Netbook and it works great. I like it much better than network-manager.
