Kernel Decompress Taking a long time

Hi All,

its only slightly irritating but im just curious.. does anyone have the same problem as i have... after booting and selecting which kernel i wanna use the kernel then decompresses. well on my desktop it takes about 2 seconds to decompress and is faster on boot up... on my laptop it takes 15-20 seconds to decompress (no matter which kernel i use), then continues to boot up normally, albeit a slight hand when running ldconfig.

any ideas on what could be causing it? its not a problem just would like to see if others are having similar problems

ohh im on a sony vaio z1sp
