Kali and parrot OS Will Not Shut Down or Restart
 

i have lenovo idieapad520 with Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphich card & Interl UHD Graphics 620 corei7 8th gen

first i try to install kali 2019 and parrot latest versions dual boot with windows 10 every thing is going fine except trying to shut down or reboot its not responding gives me black screen and trying in infinite loop so i had to shut down with power button.

i search on the internet for 1 week i am pretty sure this problem caused by Nvidia card, i try alot of solutions like updating my GRUB file to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash acpi=force”
nothing works for me, i couldn't find any clean thread showing how to install Nvidia card.

You can install nvidia-detect from both Kali and Parrot OS non-free default repositories and run it, it should tell you if your card is supported and what to do.
After installing, run command as user: nvidia-detect
