Is there an easy way???

I was able to touch a gentoo machine when i was at school last week and now i want it, but im new to linux altogether. I have used redhat 9 quite a bit, but i am by far an 'expert'. Is there an easy way to install gentoo 2005 or 2006? if not could some of you more experienced point me to a good online documentation or step by step gentoo install please.

Best place to find such documentation would be the Gentoo website.

The Gentoo web site has a guide you can copy-paste from and get a working install, it's not hard at all.
