Intel Core Duo Temps

Hi. I have lm_sensors and kima installed into KDE, and they are both reporting the same strange temperatures. After my acer has been idle for the night, I turned it on the following day and my core temps were at 138 degrees Fahrenheit (~59 C). Surely this can't be right..

Is it?

Thanks,
zpr

All I can say is that on my MacBook Pro (same processor as yours) idle temperature is always somewhere between 50-60 degrees celsius. Rarely does it drop below 50.

If by 'idle' you mean that it has been in hibernate/suspend and these temperatures are recorded a few seconds afterwards, then that does sound wrong.

OTOH, if the machine has been doing nothing but has not been using power management to get to one of the power-saving states, or the temperature is a result ~30-60 seconds or more after coming out of a power save state then that sounds more plausible.
