Installing Scientific Linux 5.5 on DELL XPS 15


Hi,I wanted to install Scientific Linux..so i download the ISO files from its site.....i download Scientific Linux 5.5....i got 2 DVDs...i have written them in Bootable format using Nero......I have given 1st boot priority as CD/DVD drive..But I didnot get any graphical screen...I got a DOS prompt after the priority selection screen...Now i am stuck on how to install it...I have searched for Installation notes...but could only find for Scientific Linux 5.2.

CAN ANYONE PLS HELP ME

if you got a DOS prompt, you're in an inferior OS.
If you got a shell something like
sh#

You're in linux, and you need to read how to set the things up. There will be anaconda, so in this instance I would try
which setup
which anaconda

and if either of them show, run in that order
/path/to/executable.

Welcome to LQ.

Nero : Choosing "Bootable" : You will not get a usable burn.

Please choose : 'Burn an image' or 'Burn as an image'

I.e. an .iso file is an "image file".
