Install linux on a laptop with no CD-ROM?
I have a toshiba portege 3110ct, and i was wanting to put Mandrake 10 on it, but it is a subcompact and it has no CD drive. I made a boot floppy, but it asks for a second driver disk that I dont have. I was planning to do a network install, but I dont know how to procede.
Any help would be great, thanks, Ben |
You could get hold of the xtra driver disks. You can get them here:
ftp://mandrake.mirrors.pair.com/Mand...0/i586/images/ Itīs propaply the network_drivers.img it askīs for. |
by a external usb or parrel drive or somthing like damb small linux or network install

I made a disk with that img and after I insert it, it says "which driver should I use to gain SCSI access?" I dont have SCSI, its just a IDE drive, then when I hit cancel, it goes to "what kind of install do you want to do" and it only gives the CDROM option.
