Inspiron 2650 Suse 9.1 audio problem

I have Inspiron 2650, Suse 9.1. 512 MB RAM, Dual boot with XP. I updated to KDE 3.3.2 and still have a problem with audio breaking up while using other applications. Could this be a kernel problem? I updated to 2.6.5-7.111.30. I tried modifying Skip Protection and enabled Highest Priority and stil have problem. DMA is enabled. CD's play fine! Any IDEAS??
