Inactive "ACPI config" panel in KDE after upgrade to 2.6.16

Slackware 10.2
KDE 3.4

Recently I upgraded to kernel 2.6.16. I have ACPI compiled in the kernel. APM is not compiled.

The problem is that in "ACPI config" panel in KDE I have everything disabled.
With the old kernel 2.4.31 - I was able to change the ACPI states from that menu. Even now if I start with the old kernel I'm able to to change them (the boxes are active).

If anybody can give me an advice I'll be thankful!

Read the whole thing, not sure if it applies to you.

But has to do with enabling /proc/acpi/sleep (Was deprecated in new kernel, and didn't compile it in). I notice you don't have it either....

I also think that the problem has something to do with /proc/acpi/sleep, because in the old kernel-2.4.31 I was able to see it (the file). Now even when I login with "root" I do not see it.

And of course I don't know how to enable /proc/acpi/sleep in kernel 2.6.16

Anybody? Please !
