In dual boot (Redhat linux and Vista),choosing vista goes to recovery mode

Hi,
I have both redhat linux and windows vista in my laptop, in dual boot with other option as vista. everything was working fine till yesterday. I just reinstalled redhat linux on my laptop(bcoz of some issues), linux works fine, but when I try to boot Vista, it opens the recovery solution.

Do you think my windows got affected while reinstalling linux? should i use restore option to solve this option? if so which drive should i restore? i got c:,d: drives.

but still in linux when i type fdisk -l, i see all ntfs partitions
/dev/sda1
/dev/sda2 * c:
/dev/sda3 d:

but i remember 1 thing while installing linux, in the process of selecting grub 'other' was pointed as /dev/sda1.
but i am not sure should it be /dev/sda1 or(c: drive) which is /dev/sda2?

bcoz i feel /dev/sda1 may be the recovery partition in vista...thats y when i boot to other it is going to recovery solution.if this is the reason..then how to change other to /dev/sda2 from /dev/sda1?

Please kindly help me out with this. Bcoz without knowing exact problem i don't want to restore.

Thank You,
Shaalini.

sounds like the reinstalling of linux, has not picked up the correct partition to run Vista correctly.

check that the menu <entry> for Vista is pointing to the correct partition & not to the Recovery partition.

rootnoverify(hd0,0) to (hd0,1)

/dev/sda1 was pointing to recovery and /dev/sda2 was c .
i had a hint of this problem but didn't know where exactly can i edit. with your reply and seeing at one more threads reply in the same forum, i changed in grub file and it works.

Thank u all guys!
Its a wonderful forum and such an immediate response.

Thanks once again,
Shaalini.
