impossible to install debian with lightscribe


Hi;

i've a notebook "hp pavilion dv5", wich on it i want to install debian etch 4 with dvd (iso), but during installation my cd player light scribe can't know the driver of the dvd , i've change the driver but the same trouble.

so please help me

Try using Lenny 5, which is the current stable. Etch is several years old.

thanks for your response , i've thought to install lenny , but there were a problem in downloading dvds and netinst with bittorrent , so if you have a solution , if jigdo is better !

You can download the CD over http. Just go here and download a netinstall *.iso.

Also check out this link for install notes from someone else. Looks like you might even want to try Squeeze (testing).

Ok, thank you,

i think that the second link is better because i've tried the first but

verifying chechsum of the iso image was always failed , i'll try your

link . and now i download the dvd using utorrent , there is no trouble at

this moment . in any case i will tell you .
