IBM ThinkPad, the sound works on boot, but then stops.

I recently installed SuSE 9.0 Pro on my IBM ThinkPad. Everything seems to work well, but sound.

When I first boot the computer, the sound works fine. I get the KDE starting sounds, and XMMS works well for MP3s.

But if the computer goes into Sleep or Hibernation mode, if I shut the top for a few minutes, or if I log in as a different user, the sound stops working.

I do not get the KDE starting sounds, and when I click on play in XMMS, nothing happens.

If I start a "New Session" while the music is playing, I am fine, but if I log out, then log back in, I have problems.

The computer is using a Crystal SoundFusion card. I double checked the sound setup, and everything appears to be fine.

When I cold boot the computer, the sound returns. Just a restart doesn't seem to get it.

Anyone had this problem, or got any ideas?

Right now, I just make sure I shut it down completely before putting the computer away.
