Hello all
I have this laptop and hdd is 80 GB Serial ATA HDD 5400 rpm (Fujitsu MHV2080BH-PL) i have windows hp home edition on it and i want to set up a slackware linux on it parelel to windows, when i get booted into linux console it cant find any ide except my cd-rom, i have tried all i know but no results.
I need to pertition my hard disk, but i cant.
fdisk just executes fdisk /dev/hda
in windows device manager it shows there are two ide channels primary and secondary, so it is probably hda and hdb but hda is my cdrom and hdb is not fixed in console! What could be a problem?
Well if you boot there's a function-key (F2 I think) which shows you a list of kernels which are available. Try the 2.6-based kernels, there's one called huge.s that should do, if not try the others.
Be aware that if that works, your kernel will be installed without modules. That's a known, let's say "feature", and by searching the Slackware forum here on LQ you'll find instructions on how to install these modules.
