Question How to set resolution to 1280*800 in Fedora Core 2?

My notebook is Compaq Presario x1000. The video card is ATI R9200M.
Official driver just supports Windows.
FC2 could set the video card as ATI R9M, however, there is no selection to set the resolution to 1280*800.
Who knows whether there is a driver for linux and support 1280*800?
Thanks a lot!

I have a hp pavilion zv5000. It also has a 1280x800 screen. Here is a mode line I found that I am using now.
Modeline "1280x800" 104.35 1280 1360 1496 1712 800 801 804 835

My WXGA screen can only handle about 60hz vertical refresh, so I don't think that these setting will strain your display.

Have you checked to see if that resolution is available in your X config file?
For XFree86 v4, it's /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Resolutions available are listed under 'Section "Monitor"', "modeline"; resolutions used for each color depth are listed under 'Section "Screen"', 'Subsection "Display"'
I dunno about X.org though...
