Question how to install network drivers in my hp550 laptop


Hi... I'm a newcomer to the wonderful world of linux. I have a hp550 laptop with RHEL 4 installed on it. I have spent the last few days searching various sites itself with no information on where to download suitable drivers.

Yesterday I installed RHEL 5 on my laptop and it detects all hardware.
The output of the lspci command is given below:

If you're just giving Linux a go, and really advise that you don't use redhat. It's a server operating system, and so really hard to make the most of it on a laptop. If you pick a distro like Ubuntu, then I'd bet good money that the wireless drivers and all will work without any configuration, whereas you'll have a lot more fun / trouble / frustration trying to achieve the same on the wrong operating system. Having said that, this http://atrpms.net/dist/el5/ipw3945/ appears to be the driver you need for the wireless.
