I am running puppy linux on a 400 mz amd but I added ram it is maxed at 192 mb. That said you will want puppy linux 3.0 or older. like puppy 2 it will run on 32 mb. on the same machine I am running slack ware 13 xfce4 and lxd desk top. slackware 11 and slackware 10.2 slackware 10.2 with kde is pretty fast for old stuff. slackware 13.0 lxd is faster.
that said you need more ram or stick to puppy 2.16
