how do i find out how much timee or space is available on my hard drive, or flash dr?

asus k53u specs say hd holds 320GB, and I have a 4GB flash drive with 9.5 hr of
spoken word material. How do i find out how much time or storage space is still
available?

If this involves commands, I also need to know where to enter them.

thanks as always.
